Review :

Egyptian Dancing

I have to give this film a low rating because the dancing is so BAD! The studio is supposed to teach ballroom but the ballroom moves they offer are pretty pitiful. The plot follows the original in some ways, but deviates from it in significant areas, due to Egyptian cultural values. The tension between the husband and wife about her dancing, the presence of a gay couple in the studio, a zany subplot involving muhagabbat (veiled women), and another subplot regarding sex and love out of wedlock, reflect current issues in Egyptian society. I heard that this film took a long time to be released due to government censorship. Maybe they cut out some of the good parts, because overall this was not a good film.
